Why are there so many "empty" posts on this thread? Makes it impossible to follow the narrative.

Found on FB for sale: Tascam M-520 & Tascam MS-16

<great_story> When I bought my MS-16 in 2018, I drove the ~1-1/2 hours to where it was located. The seller was living in one of those Golden Sunset retirement communities. The machine had been found in a friend's storage facility after that friend passed, and the friend had lived in Nashville...

    Looking for ADAT-XT 1.06 EPROMS

Extremely long shot, I know, but has anyone got a stash of these, or know somewhere that does? I've got a couple of 1.04 XTs that I'd like to update. Thanks in advance!

Anybody messed with the output jacks on a Tascam BR-20?

Thanks for checking for me, anyway. If not for that, and your question, I might never have known he covered these over.

Anybody messed with the output jacks on a Tascam BR-20?

You're not gonna believe this. It does have XLR I/O. There were covers taped over the portions of the panel where the XLR in and out were. Problem solved. I'm just gonna stop using the RCA's.

Anybody messed with the output jacks on a Tascam BR-20?

Nope. This is my Dad's old machine. He bought it new, and his entire studio was wired with RCA connectors. It was what he was used to. How hard is that jack PCB to get to?

Anybody messed with the output jacks on a Tascam BR-20?

My trusty BR-20, also my only half track quarter inch machine, has developed an intermittent output on track 2. It cuts out unless I put pressure on it. I tried all the hopeful easy things like cleaning the connectors and trying a different cable, but nothing except holding pressure on it keeps...

    It Lives! Sony TC650

Nice! I have a TC-560 that belonged to my grandparents. It's one with the dual voltage - 12VDC or 117VAC. Uses a special 4-pin power cord, and if you plug in to the wrong set of pins, you're feeding 120 into the side that wants 12V. No problem if you have the proper power cord, and of course...

    Those very rare Tascam accessories~

My "white whale" piece of gear isn't a Tascam piece, but a Fostex. I need an 8779 interface for a Fostex 3035. It interfaces the 3035 to my JH24. I got into the land of 3035's because I had a set of tapes that were recorded on an MS-16 and a Fostex B16, simultaneously, synced with the 3035. I...

    Teac 3440 Tension Setting?

I don't have an answer for you, but I'll be watching, as I have a similar thing happening with a 34B. If I rewind and hit stop, the right hand (take-up) reel continues moving for about another 1/4 turn, causing the tape to let down on the tension arms, and I have to wrap it back up a little to...

Terrys rubber rollers web site advice.

I've been using Hostgator for about the last ten or so years, after my last hosting company also went out of business. I was very happy with how easy it was to upload my site and get it rolling, and their support has been very responsive the couple of times I had problems. I also run the site...

Looking for some Sony or Otari parts

Looking for some Sony or Otari parts Hi all, I have a Sony APR-24, which is missing the button cap for the Record button on the remote. It's the same type as on the main recorder. I'm trying to find a replacement, but there aren't a lot of these machines around. In my search, it appears that...

    New-to-me gear: Tascam MS-16 1” 16 channel recorder

Tascam Cassette 4-track Appreciation Thread...Vote For Your Favorite!

I had to vote for the 424. My first multitrack was the original formula 424, and having stupidly sold it and later realizing I still had unmixed masters on cassette, I picked up a Mk III. Of course, now I can't find where the 424 masters got packed away.

Ah. No, I'm actually looking for more interfaces, not looking to sell. I need an 8779 for an MCI JH24, as well. There's a seller on Reverb, Teletech, in Canada, who gets quite a bit of these synchronizers and interface cables. I'd keep an eye out there.

Remote Control for TSR8? Is it the same as the 238?

My TSR-8 came new with an RC-408. Aside from other compatibility issues, what makes this one different than most other Tascam remotes I have is that it's a round, 7 pin DIN style connector. Most of my other, older Tascam machines use remotes with an oblong connector, like the RC-402 that my...

Multiple Tape Decks and Tracks - mixer connections

Three words - patch bay. I do transfers here. I have a JH24 wired into my analog inputs via a patch bay. That's the default path. If I want to transfer from another machine - the MS16, the E16, TSR8, whatever, I patch those in. I don't go the other direction, but a patch bay is how I would also...
