Do you think Kamal Harris would be a good POTUS?

Now that right there, is some funny sheit. :ROFLMAO::LOL: At least someone threw her a token vote. Oops! That was not intended to be racist.....

    Free alternative to Melodyne

Reaper comes with a plugin called "ReaTune" that works pretty good if you don't need to do any major editing. I used it for a while before I bought Melodyne.

    Better laptop

Max out the ram. I went from 16 to 32 in my Dell, and it made a big difference.

    It turned out silly again..

You just have to find your vocal niche Lazer. A few weeks ago, someone posted a cover of You Wear It Well by Rod Stewart that needed a vocal. I think you might do OK on that.

I like it, I kept waiting for the vocals.

    2008 Martin D28 - horrible resonances

Me too. I got one of the super cheap (free) Rogue guitars Guitar Center was giving away when you bought a 12 pack of D'addario strings, and much to my surprise, it sounds really good! I have a couple of Guild D-25's and I really like the way they sound, but the Rogue was a pleasant surprise.

    2008 Martin D28 - horrible resonances

Does it have a compensated bridge? I have a D'Angelico that had a piezo transducer under a compensated bridge and Am always sounded weird. Like it was out of tune, but the individual notes were in tune. I couldn't figure it out. I finally removed the transducer and installed a straight bridge...

Finally dealt with the sticky rubber case on my H4N Pro

Use gasoline on the tacky rubber. Soak a shop rag and wipe the sticky rubber off. Once the sticky feeling is gone, wipe off the gasoline residue with 99% alcohol.

    Buy Of The Year

Be happy you don't resemble someone who's picture is in the post office (wanted by [insert three letter agency here] in the USA). I always thought drunken women were the best, just sayin'.

    Acoustic Guitar Strings

I use D'Addario phosphor bronze EJ16 on my acoustics, and have for many years. They last a long time (probably because I'm too lazy to change them). After they have been played a few months the tone doesn't seem to change much anymore. I change them when they start looking bad.

+1 for installing an SSD. It's the best bang for the buck to speed up a machine.

Factory in China going to make me some ribbon microphones!

Very cool! It would be nice if they inscribed them "Made For Rob Aylestone".

What is missing from my studio that is important?

I have a light on the phone in my pocket. Back in my working life, I always had (and still do) a UPS on my computer. As contract mechanical designer, I could not afford to lose even the 5 minutes worth of work between autosaves. Much better to do a controlled shut down than have to reconstruct...

Cripple Creek on a cel recording

OK Laser, here you go. My wife shot this video of me performing Six Days On The Road with her iPhone 8 a couple of months ago. The audio is not terrible, but in hind sight, I should have turned a little so the guitar was not straight on to the phone because it's kind of drowning me out (maybe a...

What video editing software do you use?

Updated software is usually required if you collaborate with others or send your files to others that need to be able to manipulate the project. I ran into this in my professional life as a mechanical designer. An older version of (insert software name here), will not open the latest versions...

Electrical power cord/plug for my amplifier got wet - What to do?

Looks like a molded cord and plug. No way for water to get in there. Roll it out into the sun for a few hours if you are concerned.
