Whitesnake new recording - strange mix

Anyone else find the mix strange? The main guitar riff is very loud, the 2nd solo is pretty quiet, vocals very quiet, drums are pretty quiet...mids are very scooped to sound modern, but thats usually to allow headroom for drop D 7-string tunings and lots of heavy bass sounds etc which isnt...

Why my mixes sound like sh*t on phones

Every time I mix without using headphones, everything sounds off balance in other sources, and I have to correct it with headphones.

2 Panned Guitars or 1 Panned Guitar and 1 Panned Reverb?

Yeah, I mainly wanted to find out if I was understanding the concept correctly. Was never much of a VH fan either and listening to the clip you posted, Im not sure I like that guitar prod, but its probably a way of making a guitar sound big while still sounding like one guitar and also saving a...

    Any tips on harsh vocals?

Use some form of EQ or lowpass/highpass filter. Pull the sliders at extreme enough levels to make the changes obvious, then slide around until you hear frequencies you dont like. Lower the EQ there. Do the same thing and look for sounds you like and pump the EQ up a bit there. 100 - 200 hz and...

2 Panned Guitars or 1 Panned Guitar and 1 Panned Reverb?

So theyre not just panning the reverb? Theyre talking about one dry and one wet guitar channel, so to speak? I think what theyre talking about is nothing but reverb in one of the channels, just the reflection, but I might be wrong

2 Panned Guitars or 1 Panned Guitar and 1 Panned Reverb?

Trying to get the hang of recording basics. So far, Ive been doing a lot of stereo guitars, one guitar in each channel. But I keep coming across people who place one guitar in one speaker and then pan the quiter reverb to the other side, rather than have another guitar playing there. When would...
