    Cash or Credit?

Don't forget the yellow Top Value stamps, or the coupons on the back of cigarette packs.

    Northern lights

I didn't go outside last night to try to see the lights. I'm in the city, so the ambient light is pretty strong much of the time. Plus I had an early tee time, so I went to bed by 11. There were a LOT of pics on the TV news this morning.

    Cash or Credit?

I was in line at the local Walmart, and a fellow in the line in front of me pulled out his wallet and tried to hand the "cashier" some money, and the lady said "this is a card only line". We were both flabbergasted! I've had that happen at a self checkout before. Credit/debit only. I...

Now that's what a rock band's supposed to look like

He grew up here. A couple of the guys from DOTN still live here. Jesse and Mat both live just across the river in Southern Indiana. I think Todd lives near Nashville.

Now that's what a rock band's supposed to look like

You must be talking about Travis Meeks. A truly tortured soul.... He did an excellent job on some other Doors songs as well, including working with Robbie Krieger's band some years ago.

    What's goin' on with everybody

DG, I would, but as I tell my golfing partners when I'm hunting for that lost golf ball, "I need to find it. After all, I'm a retiree on a fixed income"!

Music I like, what do you like??

For me, that was some of the best stuff that Yes ever did. I played the DAYLIGHTS out of Close to the Edge. The 8 track was in the car, and the album was in bedroom on the turntable.

Fleetwood Mac - "Dreams" jazz reharmonization

Serendipity, for me, the biggest issue was the off pitch vocals. I always cringe when I hear them. It just seems well out of your range, and you're struggling to get there. I sort of agree that transposing to a more natural key might help. What if you moved it to Bb/C rather than F/G...

    What's goin' on with everybody

C'mon DG. You need to step into the 2020's. Prince's 1999 is classic rock now! Disco has already had a revival (it think it's due to return again), and VHS tapes were still holding on over DVDs. Y2K didn't happen, so you can come out of the bomb shelter!!! BTW, I keep...

    What's goin' on with everybody

Why would you think Cakewalk is dead? Bandlab took ownership of the Sonar and Cakewalk programs from Gibson when they were divesting themselves of a bunch of stuff they shouldn't have bought in the first place. https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk I doubt that it is the same program...

    Start/stop recording with footswitch ??

I've never needed or used a foot switch. I actually think it would be more distracting to me to have to have to start with a switch. It's much easier to just arm the track start recording at a point earlier than you need. Either split out the part you don't need, or mute it if you want...

Question: Is a 30-watt amp head going into a 2x12 cab good enough for medium-sized gigs?

US power for single phase is supposed to 120v at 60 cycles. Typically the power comes in on two phases. Using a split phase center tapped line, you can run 120 or 240v. Two phase equipment like electric driers, electric stoves and A/C units will use split phase, but is commonly referred...

Can I transfer a project created in DAW to TASCAM 488?

    (y) Google Translate has been a wonderful tool! Languages are my biggest failing. I took French in high school, couldn't place out when I went to college, so I took two more semesters, and I STILL can't "parle vous Francais". Something like Japanese, Korean or Chinese is way beyond what...

Can I transfer a project created in DAW to TASCAM 488?

"Thank you so much for your reply! I'm using an audio interface and my computer is a Mac. The audio interface I am using is Behringer UMC404HD." With the Behringer 404 you have 4 line outputs in the middle of the back. The 1/4" jacks on those outputs are, I believe, TRS balanced, so a simple...

Can I transfer a project created in DAW to TASCAM 488?

"Hello, I've been into cassette culture lately and I'm here. Currently I have a Tascam 488 and it's MK1. I'm wondering how to move a project created in a DAW to TASCAM 488. In other words, it's as if you recorded a tape on a Tascam 488 and had it mixed down in your DAW (and vice versa). I'm an...

    Transformerless SM58

I have several e835s and a 935. I've also got the Shures, but I really like the Sennheisers for PA vocal work. I bought Shure first because that's what everyone used around here in years gone by. Then I tried the Senn, and I was sold. I have a friend from Missouri that feels the same...

Anyone using the Bigsby Game Changer pedal?

That's the first I've seen of it. I only have one guitar with a trem, a G&L Legacy, and I really don't use it. My Strat is decked. But it's a cool idea and really could solve the problem of the guitar sometimes not coming back into tune although their web page says that they have even...

Music I like, what do you like??

Sadly, TIm passed away several years ago. This is new project, supposed to come out in June. I love that poster. $11 to see over a dozen top level bands in one day. Now it's $110 just to see one person dance and sing to backing tracks.
