Assigning inputs to Tracks R8

Hi - I am trying to assign 2 inputs (guitar and Mic). And i cant find how to route the signal to the tracks; does it automatically default to tracks 1 and 2?

I think on the R8, when you arm the input, you can choose which track it goes to by pressing the button over the track you want until it goes to record mode. That's one difference between the R8 and the R24/16.
