first of all, thank you for responding. i just picked up an MD8 and when using the track erase feature i either lose a few frames from tracks i want protected or it works perfectly, erasing the track i don't want to keep. when i lose frames from tracks i want protected it effects the entire recording across the board with a frame or two of silence and i have to begin all over again from the start. i'm positive that i'm overlooking something very basic, i'm obviously in the learning stages. thank you again.
